BASICS OF THE BIM INTERFACE (4 SICS)
(Prerequisite- none)
This course is a fundamental course for a new user. It will provide architects, engineers, technologists, subtrades, generals and design-build firms the basic interface adn maneuverability knowledge to leverage BIM in their workflow. Using REVIT Architecture and a virtual construction model of a small office with warehouse the topics to be covered include:
- understand the purpose of BIM technology solutions and how it applied in the proprietary tool of REVIT
- use the REVIT Architecture workspace adn interface
- add walls to a massing study and create a presentation sheet
- work with basic drawing and editing tools
- create levels, grids, datum elements
- add floors and roofs
- create standard and custom stairs
- detail reflected ceiling plans with ceilings and lights
- add components such as furnishings and equipment
- set-up sheets for plotting with text, dimensions, tags

Course # LDCA 100- GC
INTO TO BIM FOR GENERAL AND SUBCONTRACTORS (2 SICS)
(Prerequisite- none)
This course will provide project managers, estimators and senior staff engaged in general contracting and subcontracting the basic tools for visualizing and reporting a sample virtual construction model of a small office using NAVISWORKS. The topics to be covered include:
- describe the main features and functionality of the NAVISWORKS product
- open and append 3D files of different formats and save them in NAVISWORKS format
- create links to external scheduling files and object properties in external databases (4th Dimension)
- perform visual project model reviews using the built-in review and reporting tools
- create construction simulations of a project model to check the validity of construction schedules
- perform interference detection tests between 3D files of different disciplines to check the integrity of the design

ADVANCED PRESENTATION BIM FOR DESIGN BUILDERS AND CONSULTANTS (5 SICS)
(Prerequisite- LDCA 100 - GC)
This course will provide firms engaged in Design-Build projects advanced animation for presentations and demonstrations of a virtual construction model of a small office with manufacturing using NAVISWORKS. The topics to be covered include:
- use Animator and Scripter to create interactive animations for presentations and demonstrations
- add true life materials, lighting and backgrounds to project models to create photorealistic output
Class length is 1- 8 hour day
Course # LDCA 100- MEP
MEP FUNDAMENTALS (5 SICS)
(Prerequisite- none, recommended LDCA- 100 ALL)
This course will provide subcontractors and mechanical designers engaged in mechanical, electrical and plumbing the basic tools for creating, visualizing and reporting using a sample virtual construction model of a small office using REVIT MEP. The topics to be covered include:
- introduction to REVIT MEP and BIM
- views
- set up, import and link projects using REVIT MEP
- Parametric 3D design tools to design and analyze MEP systems
- detailing and drafting view creation
- collaboration and cross referencing with other disciplines
- annotation and creation of project schedules
- create construction documents

Course # LDCA 100-ST
STRUCTURAL FUNDAMENTALS (4 SICS)
(Prerequisite- none, recommended LDCA 100- ALL)
This course will provide subcontractors, design-build firms and structural designers a basic introduction for structural modeling using REVIT Structure. The topics to be covered include:
- introduction to REVIT Structure and BIM
- views
- REVIT Structure design tools
- framing systems
- elevator shaft, stairs and ramps
- annotation, detailing and scheduling
- sheet layout and print view development
